The role:

• As Sourcing Manager, you will develop and manage the sourcing strategy for a key range of food products working with existing suppliers and sourcing new suppliers.
• The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for negotiating cost-price increases and will develop and implement a plan to reduce cost of good to ensure margin targets are achieved.
• In the role the Sourcing Manager will work collaboratively with suppliers on range and NPD opportunities ensuring that sustainable sources of supply are always achieved.
• Using data and insights and working with internal and external stakeholders you will develop the strategic plan that will deliver long-term growth
• This Sourcing Manager role is ideal for a commercial individual who has food buying experience gained from UK food retail or wholesale. You could also be working within hospitality or within a commercial role within an own label food manufacturer.
• It is essential to be able to demonstrate hands-on-related buying or commercial experience gained from the UK food industry and have negotiated directly with suppliers demonstrating different tactics and styles.
• In addition, you will demonstrate a passion for the customer, product and a flair for commerciality
• Working as part of a team you must have excellent relationship building skills, you will be able to communicate and influence with internal and external stakeholders.
• As Sourcing Manager, you must have good insight and data analysis skills and be able to action opportunities to drive profit
• You will have excellent planning and organization skills and will be able to work independently on your own initiative, a self-starter with can-do attitude
