Packaging Procurement Assistant

• Experiencing high growth in the portfolio and requiring a Packaging Procurement Assistant to play a key role in the Procurement team.

The role:

• The Packaging Procurement Assistant will be responsible for key tasks, spanning across design, development, testing, and optimization of packaging materials and processes.
• Working across primary, secondary and tertiary packaging (including quality testing).
• Ensure packaging is functional, cost-effective and visually appealing.
• Material selection and quality – work to choose the best materials for packaging, based on wider factors (e.g. safety), environmental factors and operational suitability (including cost).
• Stakeholder management – working closely with wider teams, including Artwork, Purchasing, Marketing and Operations.
• Partner closely with the NPD teams – supporting with project managing new branded and own label packaging.
• Finally, the Packaging Procurement Assistant will have a good understanding of wider food manufacturing operations, to enable them to support the Procurement team with ad hoc tasks.
• This is a great role for someone at the start of their FMCG Commercial Journey who's eager to learn.
• Must be a foodie – interested in FMCG developments.
• Be a confident, strong minded, people person who is capable when challenged.
• Be a do-er, someone who is hands on and works quickly to achieve business goals.
