Head of Sales – Non-Food – Trade & DIY channel
Overview
- Well-renowned supplier of non-food products, predominantly within home & DIY channel
- Products are innovative, unique and tailored specifically for retailers across a mix of brand & private-label
- Business supplies a number of key retail channels including DIY retail, grocery, high street and online
- Culturally it’s a supportive, inclusive business with strong values and long-standing employees
- Implementing a number of employee-based working policies to further enhance culture of the business
- Due to growth plans, an opportunity has arisen to join the business as Head of Trade Sales in the UK
Responsibilities
- Leading a team of 5 Commercial Managers on the Trade side of business for a leading non-food supplier
- Overseeing operations across a wide customer base such as Jewson’s, Travis Perkins, Screwfix, Merchants, Buying Groups, Local Councils, Authorities and Independent retailers
- Must have excellent leadership, communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong commercial acumen, able to manage complex negotiations and do all forecasting and reviewing market trends
- Able to lead and coach the team, working closely with senior leadership team to drive results across the trade channel
- Think strategically, be a part of a growing business bearing in mind wider company values
- Ideally you will have experience in a non-food category such as DIY, Home, Kitchen or a related industry
- Previous involvement in trade customers across the industry would be viewed favorably
- Experience in leading a sales team would be beneficial, our client will also consider someone looking to progress into a Head of Sales position
- You will have strong experience in a commercial role for a supplier business
- Be a strong leader, able to coach and develop a team and work well with wider internal colleagues and external customers
- Comfortable in a fast-paced product driven business and able to work well independently
- Be personable, a strong communicator and lead in a supportive manner
- Able to travel as per the needs of the role and business
- This role will be field-based with some travel to Hampshire based head office as required
