Community Safety Officer (Patrolling)
Location: Swindon
Pay Rate: Β£18.85 per hour PAYE or Β£25.21 per hour Umbrella
Hours: 40 hours per week
Contract Length: 17 weeks

Seven Resourcing is recruiting a Community Safety Officer (Patrolling) to support frontline community safety operations in Swindon. This is a public-facing role focused on creating safer, cleaner, and more welcoming neighbourhoods through high-visibility patrols, engagement, and proportionate enforcement.
This opportunity is well suited to candidates with experience in community safety, enforcement, neighbourhood services, or security who are confident working independently and engaging with the public.
As a Community Safety Officer, you will be part of a proactive frontline team delivering visible patrols across neighbourhoods, town centres, parks, and other identified priority areas. You will work closely with partner agencies to address anti-social behaviour, environmental issues, and community concerns, helping to improve quality of life for residents, visitors, and businesses.
Key Responsibilities
Patrolling and Visibility
- Carry out regular foot and vehicle patrols across designated areas
- Provide a visible, reassuring presence to deter anti-social behaviour and nuisance activity
- Identify emerging community safety issues and respond appropriately
Community Engagement
- Engage positively with residents, businesses, and visitors
- Offer advice, guidance, and reassurance on community safety matters
- Build constructive relationships to encourage reporting and cooperation
Enforcement and Compliance
- Address low-level anti-social behaviour and environmental offences
- Issue warnings, fixed penalty notices, or other enforcement actions where appropriate
- Gather evidence and complete accurate reports in line with procedures
Problem Solving and Partnership Working
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners such as police and housing services
- Contribute to targeted operations and hotspot patrols
- Support longer-term solutions to recurring community safety concerns
Reporting and Administration
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, patrols, and enforcement activity
- Prepare statements and documentation when required
- Use IT systems and handheld devices to log activity
Requirements
- Previous experience in community safety, enforcement, security, neighbourhood services, or a similar frontline role
- Strong communication and conflict management skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
- Good report-writing and IT skills
- Willingness to work flexible shifts where required
- Full UK driving licence preferred
