Seven Resourcing are recruiting a Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse / Clinical Lead Veterinary Nurse for a permanent opportunity within an established small animal veterinary practice in Swindon. This role is ideally suited to an experienced Deputy Head Nurse or Senior RVN who is ready to step into a Head Nurse position, or a current Head Nurse looking for a progressive multi-site leadership role. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinary nurse seeking career progression into Head Nurse leadership within a supportive, well-structured and forward-thinking veterinary environment.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will support the Head Nurse function across multiple sites, with a clear development pathway toward full Head Nurse responsibility. You will work closely with veterinary surgeons, practice management, and nursing teams to ensure high clinical standards, effective team leadership, and excellent patient care across a busy small animal practice.

Key Responsibilities
- Support leadership of a multi-site veterinary nursing team
- Develop, implement, and maintain clinical protocols and nursing standards
- Deliver staff induction, supervision, and ongoing development
- Act as Clinical Coach and mentor to Student Veterinary Nurses and RVNs
- Work alongside management on recruitment and HR processes
- Ensure compliance with RCVS Practice Standards Scheme
- Promote high-quality patient care and strong client communication
- Support the development of future Head Nurse responsibilities
Applicant Requirements
- Qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with active RCVS registration
- Experience as a Senior RVN, Deputy Head Nurse, or Head Nurse preferred
- Minimum 5 years’ veterinary nursing experience (small animal practice)
- Clinical Coach qualification required
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ambition to progress into or further develop within a Head Nurse role
- Commitment to clinical excellence and team development
