Seven Resourcing are recruiting an experienced Clinical Lead Nurse to join a specialist children’s respite service supporting children and young people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and complex health needs. This is a senior, rewarding role offering a blend of hands-on clinical leadership and service-level responsibility, within a warm, home-from-home environment.

The service provides overnight short breaks for a small number of children at any one time, ensuring highly personalised, compassionate care. The environment is calm, nurturing, and family-focused, supported by a dedicated nursing and care team committed to delivering the highest standards of clinical care, dignity, and safety.
About the Role
As Clinical Lead Nurse, you will provide expert clinical and operational leadership across the service. Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will deputise in their absence and play a key role in ensuring the service remains inspection-ready, fully compliant, and focused on continuous improvement. This role is ideal for a nurse with strong paediatric and/or learning disability experience who is passionate about leadership and improving outcomes for children with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical and operational leadership within the children’s respite service
- Lead, supervise, and develop the nursing team, including clinical supervision and competency sign-off
- Deputise for the Registered Manager to ensure continuity of safe and effective service delivery
- Oversee clinical governance, audits, risk management, and quality improvement activity
- Ensure full compliance with CQC Treatment of Disease, Disorder and Injury (TDDI) standards
- Maintain oversight of care planning, outcomes measurement, and clinical record keeping
- Ensure mandatory training and professional standards are consistently met
- Work collaboratively with children, families, carers, commissioners, and external professionals
- Support safeguarding practice and ensure adherence to relevant legislation and professional accountability
Qualifications and Experience
- Registered Nurse (Learning Disabilities and/or Children’s Nursing preferred)
- Degree-level qualification with a recognised teaching and assessing qualification
- Experience working with children with learning disabilities and complex health needs
- Strong background in clinical leadership, supervision, training, and audit
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and relevant legislation
- Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills
- Flexibility to support service needs when required
