Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for an Education Capital and Place Planning Officer to work on behalf of a local authority education service in Kettering. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced education planning professional to support the delivery of statutory duties relating to school place sufficiency and education capital projects across the area.

The Role

The successful candidate will support the strategic planning and commissioning of education provision for children and young people aged 0–25. You will play a key role in ensuring sufficient school places are available through data analysis, forecasting, stakeholder engagement, and capital project support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and review of education place demand across the area.
  • Assist with the commissioning and establishment of new education provision.
  • Contribute to the delivery of education capital and school expansion projects.
  • Support the development and review of education planning policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate academy conversion processes where maintained schools transition to academy status.
  • Analyse demographic and education data to forecast future school place requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, academies, developers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure education planning activities align with current legislation and national policy guidance.

Applicant Requirements

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent experience such as NVQ Level 4 or HNC.
  • Previous experience within education place planning, capital projects, or local authority education services.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Knowledge of education legislation, school organisation, and place planning processes.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
