Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for a Temporary Accommodation Reduction Specialist to support a major Housing Solutions Transformation Programme in Essex. This is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced housing professional to lead strategic initiatives focused on reducing the use of temporary accommodation, improving move-on outcomes, and increasing access to sustainable housing solutions. The successful candidate will lead a dedicated team responsible for driving innovative and outcome-focused approaches to homelessness prevention, housing supply, and temporary accommodation reduction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a specialist Temporary Accommodation Reduction Team
- Drive initiatives aimed at reducing the number of households placed in temporary accommodation
- Develop sustainable move-on pathways including Private Rented Sector (PRS), social housing, and alternative accommodation options
- Build and maintain strong relationships with landlords, housing providers, developers, and partner agencies
- Identify barriers affecting resident move-on and implement practical solutions
- Support transformation projects focused on improving housing services and reducing demand pressures
- Analyse performance data and provide strategic reports and recommendations to senior leadership
- Contribute to financial efficiencies and reduction of temporary accommodation expenditure
- Represent the service at partnership meetings and strategic forums
- Ensure compliance with homelessness legislation, safeguarding responsibilities, and statutory guidance
Applicant Requirements:
- Significant experience within homelessness, housing solutions, temporary accommodation, or housing management services
- Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation and housing duties
- Experience leading teams and delivering service improvement initiatives
- Proven experience developing housing pathways and move-on solutions
- Strong understanding of the Private Rented Sector and housing supply challenges
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to analyse data and drive operational and strategic improvement
- Experience within transformation or change programmes is desirable
