Seven Resourcing are recruiting for an experienced Director of Clinical Services to join a leading independent healthcare provider in Cambridge on an interim contract basis. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a clinically driven healthcare professional with a strong background in governance, patient safety, operational leadership, and service improvement. The role is available immediately for an initial 6-month period, working 37.5 hours per week, typically 8am – 4pm with some flexibility.
This position will play a key role within the senior management team, providing strategic and operational clinical leadership across hospital services while ensuring the highest standards of patient care, governance, compliance, and staff engagement.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide senior clinical leadership across nursing and clinical services
- Lead on patient safety, clinical governance, safeguarding, and infection prevention
- Promote a strong culture of quality improvement and evidence-based care
- Oversee clinical risk management and maintain hospital risk registers
- Support operational and strategic development alongside senior leadership teams
- Ensure compliance with CQC standards, professional regulations, and internal governance frameworks
- Lead and support investigations relating to incidents, complaints, and clinical concerns
- Manage and develop clinical teams, promoting high performance and continuous professional development
- Monitor clinical budgets, staffing levels, and resource management
- Drive improvements in patient experience, safety outcomes, and service delivery
- Registered Nurse (Adult) with active NMC registration
- Significant senior-level clinical leadership experience within healthcare settings
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, patient safety, and regulatory compliance
- Experience leading multidisciplinary clinical teams
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong knowledge of CQC standards and healthcare quality frameworks
- Ability to lead strategically while remaining operationally focused
