Purpose
To provide 7IM Agile Squad(s) with an automation-first approach to delivering incremental change.
Provide day-to-day support to meet the 7IM Test Chapter objectives.
Provide informed test guidance, support and delivery to the business, development and support functions throughout the lifecycle of our software solutions, with a ‘shift-left’ approach.
Help to support the overall delivery of the test automation agenda as 7IM drives towards a Quality Engineering culture.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality manual testing across Squad deliverables, ensuring thorough validation of business requirements and reducing the risk of defects reaching production.
- Ability to self-manage testing activities within the Squad
- Analysis and review of functional requirements, identifying risks, gaps, ambiguities, and areas requiring clarification to influence quality outcomes early in the delivery lifecycle
- Define and execute comprehensive test approaches, including functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and usability testing where appropriate
- Create and maintain high-quality test scenarios, test cases, test data, and test execution evidence to support effective and auditable testing
- Design and execute data generation, manipulation, and validation activities, including SQL queries and data analysis, to support test preparation and execution
- Effectively communicate testing outcomes, risks, defects, and quality concerns to stakeholders, ensuring informed decisions can be made regarding release readiness
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve testing practices, processes, standards, and tools, sharing knowledge and best practices across the Test Chapter
- Drive a quality-first culture within the Squad by promoting early testing involvement, collaboration, and strong quality engineering principles throughout the Software Development Lifecycle
- Support and mentor team members in testing activities, helping to raise overall testing capability across the Squad and wider team
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and stakeholders to ensure requirements are testable, understood, and aligned with business objectives
- Contribute to release planning and go-live activities by providing clear assessments of quality, test coverage, residual risks, and production readiness
About You
- General Skills
- Strong experience in manual testing across complex business and technology solutions
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to assess requirements, identify risks, and determine appropriate testing approaches
- Strong exploratory testing skills with the ability to uncover issues beyond documented requirements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of translating technical findings into business-focused outcomes
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working within Agile Squads
- Thorough knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Test Lifecycle, and ISTQB best-practice testing techniques
- Experience designing and executing risk-based testing strategies
- Experience using Microsoft Azure Dev Ops (ADO) or similar test management and work tracking tools
- Asset Management and Financial Services domain knowledge
- Ability to influence quality outcomes, challenge assumptions constructively, and advocate for customer-focused testing
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while effectively collaborating across cross-functional teams
- Automation Skills / Tools
- Playwright (. Net)(desirable)
- Specflow / Reqnroll (or another BDD framework tool)
- Selenium (desirable)
- Proficient in object-oriented programming (C# desirable)
- Familiarity with API test tools e. g., Postman / Ready API
- Knowledge of Playwright MCP or AI tools in testing(desirable)
- Familiarity CI/CD Pipelines (desirable)

- Asset Management industry knowledge
Qualifications
- ISEB / ISTQB Foundation
- Further ISEB / ISTQB qualifications are advantageous
