Seven Resourcing is recruiting for an Experienced Social Worker to join the Children Looked After Team in Swindon. This role involves working with children under 16 who are in long term foster care arrangements following the conclusion of care proceedings. Children remain within the team until they reach 16 years old. Caseloads are typically 14-16 children per full time worker. This role requires a qualified social worker with strong experience in Children Looked After practice, including long term foster care, permanence planning, and statutory social work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of Children Looked After in long term foster care placements
  • Complete statutory visits, assessments, reviews, and care planning
  • Develop and review care plans focused on permanence and stability
  • Work closely with foster carers to support placement stability
  • Liaise with multi‑agency professionals including health, education, and social care partners
  • Ensure the voice of the child is central to all planning and decision making
  • Maintain accurate case recordings, reports, and statutory documentation
  • Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and elevate where required
  • Support permanence planning and long term outcomes for children

Qualifications

  • Social Work England registration
  • Recognised Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent)
  • Experience within a Children Looked After team
  • Strong understanding of relevant children’s legislation and statutory guidance
  • Experience completing assessments, care plans, statutory visits, and reports
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively
  • Strong communication, report writing, and organisational skills
