- Manage and supervise a team of multi-skilled operatives and trade staff to deliver high-quality responsive repairs and maintenance services across council housing estates.
- Oversee workforce planning, trade diaries, and resource allocation, ensuring repairs are completed within agreed service standards and performance targets.
- Conduct site inspections, quality audits, and post-work reviews to monitor workmanship, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
- Investigate complex repairs issues, complaints, and service escalations, including enquiries from councillors, MPs, and the Local Government Ombudsman.
- Maintain compliance with Health and Safety legislation, the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
Qualifications
- Hold a HNC, HND, or Degree in Building Studies, Construction Management, Surveying, or a related discipline.
- Possess membership of, or be willing to work towards membership of, a recognised professional body such as CIOB.
- A relevant Health and Safety qualification (e. g., IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH) is desirable.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

- Thorough understanding of CDM Regulations, the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and housing repairs compliance requirements.
Experience
- Significant experience managing responsive repairs, planned maintenance, or housing property services within a local authority, housing association, or public sector environment.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary maintenance teams and achieving service performance targets.
