This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified social worker with fostering experience to support children and young people by recruiting, assessing, and supporting foster carers to provide safe, stable, and nurturing homes.

Manage a caseload within the fostering service, ensuring high-quality social work practice. Undertake assessments of prospective foster carers, including Form F assessments where required. Provide ongoing supervision, support, and guidance to approved foster carers. Complete annual reviews and contribute to fostering panel processes. Undertake statutory visits and ensure all safeguarding responsibilities are met.

Develop and maintain effective relationships with children, foster carers, families, and partner agencies. Prepare clear, accurate, and timely reports, assessments, and case records. Participate in care planning meetings, placement matching, and permanency planning. Ensure compliance with fostering regulations, national minimum standards, and organisational policies. Work collaboratively within a multi-agency environment to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Previous experience working within a fostering team or children's social care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989, fostering regulations, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Experience completing assessments and managing complex cases.
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
