We have been retained to fill a key position for S&P UK Ventilation Systems on the appointment of a Commercial Director – UK.

Role Purpose
The Commercial Director – UK will hold full accountability for UK commercial performance, with a clear mandate to double revenue over a three-year period, while ensuring sustainable and profitable growth. Operating within a global HVAC group, the UK business benefits from significant commercial autonomy. This role requires a senior leader capable of defining and executing a UK-focused commercial strategy, while operating within group governance, frameworks, and performance oversight. The position blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution in a technically complex, contract-led growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a UK commercial growth strategy to double revenue over three years
- Identify priority UK market opportunities, sectors, and routes to market
- Shape compelling UK value propositions using group products and capabilities
- Own UK pricing strategy, margin performance, and commercial decision-making
- Sales & Go-to-Market Leadership
- Lead all UK sales activity, including new business development, key accounts, and strategic bids
- Build and scale a UK sales organisation aligned to ambitious growth targets
- Embed robust sales processes, forecasting, and pipeline management in line with group reporting
- Lead or sponsor major customer negotiations and framework agreements
- Marketing & Market Positioning
- Set UK marketing priorities in alignment with global brand guidelines
- Drive demand generation, lead conversion, and sector positioning
- Ensure strong alignment between sales and marketing activity
- Customer & Key Account Management
- Build senior-level relationships with key customers, consultants, and partners
- Implement structured key account management to drive retention and long-term value
- Represent the UK business in strategic customer forums and negotiations
- Group Alignment & Governance
- Operate within group commercial policies and governance frameworks
- Provide clear reporting and insight to group leadership on UK performance and market dynamics
- Leverage group tools and best practice while maintaining UK agility
- Act as a key member of the UK leadership team with shared accountability for performance
- Work closely with Operations, Finance, People, and Technical teams to ensure growth is deliverable and profitable
- Build a high-performance commercial culture focused on accountability and results
- Board Member Responsibilities
- Provide strategic commercial guidance to the Chair and Board
- Support the development and delivery of corporate and annual business plans
- Monitor performance against plans to ensure objectives are achieved efficiently
- Support preparation and approval of annual reports and accounts
- Ensure statutory, regulatory, and legal compliance across the business
- Protect the financial solvency of the company and the interests of stakeholders
- Ensure company policies, governance, and health & safety standards are upheld
Skills & Experience
- Senior commercial leadership experience within HVAC, building services, engineering services, or a related B2B sector
- Proven track record of delivering significant UK revenue growth
- Strong understanding of UK sales, tendering, contracting, and compliance models
- Experience operating within a group or multinational structure
- Sound commercial judgement and decision-making capability
- Exposure to both project-led and service-based HVAC models
- Experience scaling teams and commercial capability
