Overview
The RE Teacher role at Seva School focuses on delivering outstanding teaching and fostering strong academic progress, personal development and wellbeing for all students.
You will model the school’s principles of being presentable, polite, prepared, positive and punctual, and support the wider mission of promoting active citizenship, inclusivity, respect and the Sikh value of sarbat dha bhalla the common good of all.
You will plan and deliver engaging, purposeful RE lessons aligned with the National Curriculum and examination requirements, ensuring that all students—including SEN, EAL, more able or from diverse backgrounds—are supported and challenged appropriately.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging RE lessons aligned with the National Curriculum and examination requirements.
- Maintain high expectations, strong behaviour routines and a calm classroom atmosphere; use effective strategies to inspire curiosity and deepen knowledge.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop Schemes of Learning, share good practice and deliver consistent, high-quality provision.
- Maintain accurate records, provide meaningful feedback, analyse assessment data and communicate confidently with parents and pastoral teams to support student progress.
- As a Form Tutor, deliver pastoral care, build positive relationships with students, deliver PSHE and ILP sessions, support attendance and behaviour expectations, and contribute to assemblies and the wider school community.
- Uphold safeguarding and inclusion as integral components; adhere to school and statutory policies related to child protection, equality, health and safety, and student welfare.
