A role with real purpose: As SettleParadigm continues to grow, including the recent acquisition of a significant number of new homes we’re expanding our Fire Risk & Compliance Team. We’re now looking for a skilled Fire Risk Carpenter to join us and play a vital role in keeping our customers safe. About The Role/team: You’ll be part of our Fire Risk & Compliance Team, carrying out essential fire safety works across our property portfolio. Your work will directly support our commitment to maintaining safe homes and meeting all statutory fire safety requirements. You’ll work both independently and alongside colleagues, delivering high‑quality fire door installations, fire stopping, and general FRA maintenance. Every task you complete helps protect our customers and ensures our homes meet the highest safety standards.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Installing and maintaining fire doors to FIRAS and BM Trada standards
- Completing fire stopping works to a high, compliant standard
- Carrying out general FRA maintenance, including carpentry, joinery and reactive repairs
- Certifying all work accurately and in line with required standards
- Working professionally with tenants, colleagues and contractors
- Ensuring all work meets approved codes of practice, regulations and safety requirements
Must haves:
- City & Guilds Part 1 and Part 2, NVQ Level 2, or equivalent experience in carpentry and joinery
- Experience in housing repairs, maintenance and working in occupied homes
- Strong understanding of passive fire risk works and general maintenance (carpentry, joinery, plastering, basic plumbing, tiling)
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and time management
- Commitment to delivering high‑quality customer service
- Full (preferably clean) UK driving licence (maximum of 6 points)
- FIRAS or BM Trada certification in Fire Door Installation, Maintenance or Fire Stopping

Where you’ll work: This is a mobile role covering a wide geographical area, including: Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Parts of Greater London and surrounding regions.
Office locations: Head Office – Wooburn Green: Training sessions, team meetings and corporate events; Chesham Office: Stores facility/depot and technician stop‑off point.
Working Hours & Additional Pay: Hours and working pattern: 42.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
