About the role

We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised Customer & Neighbourhood Coordinator to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You’ll play a key role in supporting our Customer & Neighbourhood Officers, providing hands‑on administrative and customer‑focused support across tenancy management and financial administration. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the wider directorate and alongside our Customer Service Team, helping to resolve queries, support residents and ensure our Customer Care Standards are consistently upheld. This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll build strong relationships with colleagues, customers and external partners, helping us deliver a seamless and responsive neighbourhood service.

What you’ll do

  • Provide efficient administrative support to Customer & Neighbourhood Officers and Managers
  • Act as a first point of contact for internal and external queries
  • Support tenancy management tasks, including documentation, data updates and case coordination
  • Liaise with external stakeholders to help resolve customer issues
  • Assist with financial administration, including processing payments and updating records
  • Maintain accurate systems and ensure information is recorded to a high standard
  • Support the delivery of excellent customer service across the neighbourhood function
  • Work collaboratively with the Customer Service Team to ensure smooth handovers and joined‑up working
  • Help identify opportunities to improve processes and customer experience

What we’re looking for

  • Must haves
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate confidently with residents, colleagues, landlords and contractors
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands
  • Good IT skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to analyse information and present it clearly
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused approach
  • Ability to take personal responsibility for tasks and follow them through to completion
  • A positive influence on colleagues and stakeholders
  • Nice to haves
  • Previous experience working in a customer service or complaints-related environment
  • For added brilliance
  • Empathy, resilience and a genuine passion for helping customers
  • Confidence building relationships and supporting continuous improvement

Why join us?

You’ll be part of a supportive, collaborative team where ideas are valued and development is encouraged. Although this role is a 12-month fixed-term contract, our size, growth and ongoing transformation mean there may be opportunities for extension, permanency or progression into other roles. Many colleagues have joined us on temporary contracts and gone on to build long and successful careers here. Even if a longer-term opportunity doesn’t arise, you’ll gain valuable experience that will strengthen your skills and employability in housing, customer service and neighbourhood roles.
