A well-established national Tier 2 Civil Engineering Contractor is seeking an experienced General Foreman to join its North West division. The role will support the delivery of a varied portfolio of Civil Engineering projects across the region.
Project Types Include:
- Bulk Earthworks
- Brownfield Remediation
- Deep Drainage & Utilities
- Reinforced Concrete Foundations
- Access Roads & External Works
- Section 278 Highway Works
Role & Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day management and supervision of site activities
- Leading site teams including foremen, engineers, operatives, and subcontractors
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification
- Coordinating plant, materials, and labour requirements
- Implementing and enforcing Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality standards
- Working closely with Site Managers and Project Managers to drive productivity
- Reviewing and implementing RAMS and method statements
- Maintaining accurate site records, progress reports, and diaries
- Liaising with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders where required
- Ensuring compliance with Section 278 and highway authority requirements
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience as a General Foreman on civil engineering projects
- Strong background in earthworks, drainage, RC works, and highways
- SMSTS or SSSTS (SMSTS preferred)
- CSCS Gold or Black Card
- First Aid at Work
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to work across multiple sites within the North West
