Project Manager - Civils / Water Location: South & West Yorkshire Sector: Water / Heavy Civils Salary: Up to £80,000 + Car & Package Setting Out Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join an established Civil Engineering contractor delivering major water infrastructure projects across South and West Yorkshire. The contractor has been operating for several decades and delivers projects across a number of major frameworks, specialising in heavy Civil Engineering, utilities and water infrastructure. With a strong pipeline of work secured through the Yorkshire Water AMP8 framework through to 2030, this is an excellent opportunity to join a business offering long-term, locally based projects throughout the Yorkshire Water region. The Projects Projects will typically include storm tanks, combined sewer overflows (CSOs), pumping stations and water treatment upgrades, with schemes generally valued from £5m upwards. Typical packages of work include: * Shaft sinking, deep excavations and drainage * Pipework and manhole construction * Reinforced concrete structures * Pumping stations and associated infrastructure * Permanent and temporary works * Concrete and associated civils packages Projects are located throughout the Yorkshire Water region, with current and upcoming schemes across Barnsley, Sheffield, Doncaster, Wakefield, Leeds and surrounding areas. The Role As Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of Civil Engineering projects from pre-construction and site setup through to completion and handover. You will lead the site delivery team, working closely with Site Agents, Site Managers, Engineers, commercial teams and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards. A key part of the role will involve maintaining a strong relationship with Yorkshire Water and other project stakeholders, while ensuring contractual and commercial matters are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include: * Overall management and delivery of water infrastructure projects * Leading Site Agents, Site Managers, Engineers and subcontractors * Managing programmes, key milestones and delivery targets * Monitoring project performance, costs, progress and commercial performance * Managing NEC contractual matters, including Early Warnings and Compensation Events * Client and stakeholder liaison, including Yorkshire Water * Chairing progress meetings and project reviews * Ensuring health, safety, environmental and quality standards are maintained * Reviewing RAMS, construction methodologies and project documentation * Identifying project risks and implementing mitigation measures * Producing progress reports for senior management and the client * Overseeing project completion, commissioning and handover About You We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in heavy Civil Engineering, water or utilities infrastructure. You should have a proven track record of taking overall responsibility for substantial Civil Engineering projects, ideally involving deep drainage, excavations, reinforced concrete, temporary works and complex water infrastructure. Previous experience delivering projects within the UK water sector would be particularly advantageous. Ideally, you will have: * Proven Project Management experience within heavy Civil Engineering * Experience delivering projects valued at £5m+ * Strong knowledge of permanent and temporary works * Experience managing Agents, Managers, Engineers and subcontractors * Good commercial awareness and working knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts * Experience managing Early Warnings and Compensation Events * Previous water industry experience – highly advantageous * HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent construction / Civil Engineering qualification – beneficial * SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid * Full UK Driving Licence Salary & Package Salary of up to £80,000, dependent on experience, plus company car and additional benefits/package.
