A leading civils and highways contractor is seeking an experienced IRATA Level 3 Supervisor to oversee rope access works on a bridge project in Newcastle. The role will involve supervising works focused on the replacement of steel drainage systems beneath the bridge, along with ongoing repair and maintenance activities. This is a long-term contract offering consistent work through to June 2027.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all rope access activities in accordance with IRATA guidelines
- Lead, manage, and support a team of rope access operatives
- Ensure all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification
- Oversee installation of new steel drainage systems under the bridge
- Manage inspection, repair, and maintenance works
- Carry out toolbox talks, risk assessments, and daily briefings
- Maintain accurate site records and compliance documentation
- Liaise with site management, engineers, and client representatives
Requirements
- Valid IRATA Level 3 certification (essential)
- Proven supervisory experience on rope access projects
- Background in civils, highways, or bridge works
- Strong understanding of health & safety regulations
- Ability to lead teams in high-risk environments
- CSCS card (preferred)
- SSSTS or SMSTS (desirable)
