About the Role
We are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client who is looking for a Junior Site Surveyor to join their civil engineering team. You’ll be based in Leeds and deployed on projects across Yorkshire covering general civils, infrastructure and wastewater treatment works. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their surveying career — experienced enough to understand basic surveying principles, but ready to develop practical skills on site. Setting out experience is not essential — full training and mentoring will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct topographical surveys and field data collection
- Assist with establishing and maintaining control networks and datums
- Support setting out tasks (training provided)
- Process, check and manage survey data
- Use and learn key survey software (e.g., LSS / N4ce) to reduce and adjust survey information
- Download/upload data to and from robotic total stations and other field instruments
- Work alongside an experienced Site Engineer to gain practical skills
- Maintain accurate survey records and support quality control
About You
- Some surveying or civil engineering experience (Ideally 1 year+ in surveying)
- Familiarity with surveying basics and an interest in learning more
- Ideally conversant with LSS / N4ce (desirable, not essential — on-the-job training available)
- Comfortable using technology and data-led processes
- Good communicator, organised and proactive
- Willing to work on sites across Yorkshire
