This is a great opportunity for a Site Engineer to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering projects across energy, infrastructure, ports, rail, industrial, highways and complex civils throughout the North of England and Scotland. The role would suit someone who enjoys technically interesting work, varied sites, and being part of a business that can keep you moving across different sectors instead of pigeonholing you.

If you have experience working around National Grid sites, substations, energy infrastructure, power, utilities or high-security/regulated environments, this could be a very strong fit. NG Persons / National Grid Persons would be highly desirable.

The role:

  • You’ll be responsible for supporting site delivery through accurate engineering, setting out, quality checks and technical coordination on live civil engineering projects.

Duties include:

  • Setting out for civils, RC, drainage, ducting, concrete, foundations, roads and infrastructure works
  • Working from drawings, RAMS, permits and technical documentation
  • QA records, ITPs, as-builts and site paperwork
  • Liaising with site managers, project managers, subcontractors and clients
  • Ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately and to specification
  • Supporting delivery on live infrastructure and energy-related schemes

Ideal background:

  • Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer experience
  • Civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, energy, power, substation or industrial project experience
  • Experience working around National Grid, substations, transmission, distribution, power, cable routes or regulated sites is desirable
  • NG Persons / National Grid Persons highly desirable - not essential
  • Comfortable travelling across projects in the North of England and Scotland
  • HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering or similar preferred
