A well-established Regional Civil Engineering Contractor based in the North West is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join its growing team. The role will focus on driving business growth, securing new opportunities, and strengthening relationships across key infrastructure sectors throughout the region. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities across a diverse civil engineering portfolio, supporting continued expansion within both public and private sector frameworks.

Role & Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across core civil engineering sectors
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, utility providers, consultants, and private sector clients
- Lead pre-construction engagement and early contractor involvement (ECI) opportunities
- Work closely with estimating, operations, and pre-construction teams to shape winning bids
- Monitor market trends, frameworks, and pipeline opportunities across the region
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans aligned with company growth objectives
- Represent the business at industry events, client meetings, and networking opportunities
- Support bid submissions with market intelligence, client insight, and strategic input
- Maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities and provide regular reporting to senior leadership
- Strengthen the company's presence across targeted civil engineering sectors and frameworks
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience in a Business Development or Pre-Construction role within civil engineering or infrastructure
- Strong understanding of highways, utilities, water, or local authority frameworks
- Established network of industry contacts across public and private sector clients
- Experience working with or for Civil Engineering contractors IS A MUST (Tier 2 or Tier 1 desirable)
- Strong commercial awareness and bid development understanding
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Full UK driving licence required
