Freelance Site Engineer – Civil Engineering

Role Summary: We’re seeking a capable Site Engineer to support major civil engineering works on a freelance basis for our client, a contractor with broad experience delivering complex infrastructure projects across multiple sectors. You’ll play a key role in ensuring technical accuracy, quality control and robust setting-out on live sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out engineering tasks including setting-out, surveying and quality control
- Work with GPS/Total Station equipment and interpret design information
- Support site management in delivering works safely and to specification
- Produce accurate records, reports and technical documentation
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards and health & safety procedures
- Coordinate with subcontractors and survey teams as required
Skills & Experience Required:
- Competent in using Total Station / GPS
- Good knowledge of construction documentation, drawings and design intent
- Strong communication and problem-solving capabilities
- CSCS or equivalent professional certification preferred
