Key Responsibilities
- ISO & Regulatory Compliance
- Support the ongoing compliance and improvement of ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems).
- Monitor and maintain compliance with relevant UK legislation and regulations, including HSE, Environment Agency, and local authority requirements.
- Assist with UKAS-accredited certification, surveillance, and recertification audits.
- Maintain compliance registers and legal requirement trackers.
- Support data collation for the 14001 management system.
- NCR & CAPA Management
- Coordinate the end-to-end management of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Log, track, and monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to completion.
- Support root cause analysis and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Prepare NCR and CAPA metrics for management review.
- Document Control
- Maintain the document control system in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
- Ensure controlled documents are reviewed, approved, issued, and archived correctly.
- Manage document version control and ensure removal of obsolete documents from circulation.
- Support staff in complying with document control and record-keeping procedures.
- Audits & Management Review
- Plan and coordinate internal audits in line with the annual audit programme.
- Support audit preparation, evidence gathering, and close-out of findings.
- Assist in preparing inputs for Management Review meetings, including KPI and compliance data.
- Training & Awareness
- Coordinate quality, environmental, and compliance training activities.
- Maintain training records and competency matrices.
- Promote awareness of ISO standards, UK regulatory obligations, and internal procedures.
- Continuous Improvement
- Support risk assessments, environmental aspects and impacts registers, and quality objectives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
- Support investigation and reporting of compliance incidents or near misses.
Qualifications & Experience
- Manufacturing experience.
- 13 years experience in a UK-based compliance, quality, or QHSE role.
- Practical experience working with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems or a willingness to learn.
- Experience managing NCRs, CAPAs, audits, and document control systems.
- Knowledge of UK regulatory bodies such as HSE and the Environment Agency is desirable.
