About the Role:
Our client, a leading UK technology services provider, is seeking a Security Solutions Consultant to join their growing Solutions Engineering team. This is a client-facing pre-sales role focused on delivering technical expertise across the company’s security portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Solutions Engineering, you will help customers understand security risks, challenges, and solution options, and provide clear, compelling technical guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver technical pre-sales services, including Proofs of Concept (POCs), demonstrations, and presentations.
- Build strong technical relationships with clients and act as a trusted adviser.
- Support the sales team in meetings, discovery sessions, and opportunity qualification.
- Contribute to technical account planning and specification of solutions.
- Assist in producing high-quality proposals, scopes of work, and tender responses.
- Evaluate and compare competitive products to recommend best-fit solutions.
- Represent the company at webinars, workshops, and client-facing events.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Pre-sales, consultancy, or customer-facing project delivery experience within an MSP.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, security technologies, and IT services.
- Hands-on experience or certifications with security solutions such as Sophos, Fortinet, N-Able, Mimecast, Barracuda, or similar.
- Strong proposal and tender writing skills.
- Excellent presentation, demonstration, and communication skills.
- Strong organisational, listening, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Ability to clearly explain technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Full, clean UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a client-facing pre-sales or security consultancy role.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to balance technical depth and business value.
- Strong collaboration skills, working closely with both sales and technical teams.
