Ready to take the next step in your engineering career?

We are looking for a hands-on electrical/mechanical engineer who can produce technical drawings themselves, thrives on solving real manufacturing problems and is ready to broaden into a site-level technical leadership role within an established manufacturing environment.

This is a genuinely technical role first, and a management role second. You will still be at the drawing board and on the shop floor, not just running meetings.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on role with real scope to make an impact. You will own the day-to-day running of the Technical, Manufacturing and Purchasing functions, working closely with departmental leads to deliver electromechanical products safely, efficiently, on time and to the required quality.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing and reviewing engineering drawings and CAD models for electrical, mechanical and electromechanical products
  • Solving technical and manufacturing problems hands-on, using structured root-cause methods
  • Turning customer and business requirements into practical, manufacturable designs and operational plans
  • Leading product development, design improvements and engineering change
  • Setting and maintaining technical standards and documentation
  • Working alongside production to improve efficiency, capacity, yield and quality
  • Driving continuous improvement across the operation
  • Managing supplier performance and supporting purchasing activity
  • Ensuring quality, compliance and traceability standards, and supporting customer, certification and regulatory audits
  • Working with Maintenance to improve equipment reliability
  • Reducing warranty issues, waste and manufacturing cost
  • Supporting budgets, forecasting and investment decisions, and mentoring the technical and manufacturing teams

Who We Are Looking For

You are an electrical, mechanical or electromechanical engineer with a strong manufacturing background who wants to broaden your responsibilities. You do not need to have held this exact level of leadership before. What matters is genuine technical credibility, the ability to solve problems, and the potential to take that next step.

Must-haves:

  • A qualification and solid background in electrical, mechanical or electromechanical engineering
  • Proven ability to create and interpret engineering technical drawings in CAD , not just oversee them
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • A track record of technical and manufacturing problem-solving (root-cause analysis, design and process fixes)
  • Experience of product development or engineering change, and of quality and compliance standards

Also valuable:

  • Supplier management and purchasing exposure
  • Continuous improvement experience
  • Experience leading, mentoring or developing technical teams

You might currently be a Manufacturing Engineer, Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Design Engineer, Senior Design Engineer, Technical Engineer, Engineering Manager, Technical Manager or Manufacturing Engineering Manager ready for more responsibility.

Why Consider It?

This is more than another management position. It is the chance to stay technical and hands-on while stepping up to a wider site-level role, with exposure across engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, quality and commercial decision-making. You will shape processes, develop teams, influence product design and make a tangible difference to how the operation performs.

If you are an electrical or mechanical engineer who can draw, who likes fixing hard problems, and who feels ready for the next level, we would love to hear from you.
