A UK SaaS business building a software platform for trade and construction-sector businesses nationally. The product is core to the company - not an internal tool - and the team is growing to support ongoing development.
This is a genuine product engineering role, not a maintenance job. You'll join as a core contributor to the mobile side of the platform, working alongside the wider engineering team to design and build features used daily by customers across the UK. Kotlin is the core requirement, with scope to work across Android and, potentially, iOS as the product roadmap develops.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Design, build, and maintain features within a live Kotlin-based mobile product
- Collaborate with product and engineering on roadmap and technical decisions
- Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code as part of a wider codebase
- Integrate the app with backend services and APIs
- Debug, optimise, and improve performance across releases
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards
- Work with product managers to translate customer needs into features
- Manage app releases and version control as part of a team workflow
- Stay current with mobile development best practice and tooling
What We're Looking For:
Essential:
- Commercial experience with Kotlin
- Solid understanding of Android development
- Experience integrating mobile apps with REST APIs and backend services
- Experience working within a product engineering team (not just internal tooling)
- Strong communication skills and comfortable collaborating cross-functionally
Desirable:
- iOS development experience or willingness to pick it up
- Experience working in a SaaS or B2B software product company
What's On Offer:
- Salary Β£45,000 - Β£60,000 per annum DOE
- Genuine product ownership within a growing SaaS business
- Direct input into the platform roadmap
- Stability of an established, profitable company with national customer reach
