The Opportunity
We are recruiting an Automation Engineer for a well-established and forward-thinking MSP that is investing heavily in automation and operational efficiency. This is a newly created role, designed to remove reliance on manual processes and drive smarter, scalable ways of working. This position offers a genuine move away from ticket-heavy support into a strategic, build-focused role, where you will take ownership of automation across the business. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, define best practices, and have a real impact on service delivery and business performance.
The Role
You will act as the internal subject matter expert for automation, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automation across multiple platforms, with a strong emphasis on N-Central RMM. Operating with a high level of autonomy, you will bridge the gap between technical teams and leadership, identifying inefficiencies and delivering end-to-end solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the discovery, design, build, and ongoing management of automation solutions
- Develop, optimise, and maintain N-Central RMM policies, scripts, monitoring templates, and workflows
- Build automation and integrations across Halo PSA, Microsoft 365, Azure, and SOC tooling
- Create and maintain PowerShell scripts to reduce manual workload across technical teams
- Improve monitoring thresholds, alerting standards, and automated responses across RMM and SOC environments
- Support SOC alert optimisation, including automated enrichment and routing
- Build and maintain strong documentation and automation standards
- Create a centralised automation library to ensure repeatability and scalability
- Collaborate with internal teams to proactively identify automation opportunities
