Sterorra is an exciting new OTT streaming platform dedicated to showcasing independent and student films. As part of Set Starters, we are passionate about providing a platform for emerging filmmakers to share their creative work with the world.

Role Overview

TheContent Acquisition Managerwill play a pivotal role in building and expanding Sterorra\’s content library. You will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, and negotiating agreements for independent, student, and original content that aligns with our brand’s mission.

Working closely with filmmakers, production companies, and creative talent, you’ll ensure Sterorra becomes a go-to destination for fresh, diverse, and impactful storytelling.

Key Responsibilities

1. Content Sourcing & Partnerships
   • Research and identify independent filmmakers, film schools, and distributors to acquire new content.
   • Build strong relationships with independent creators, production houses, and universities.
   • Attend film festivals, industry events, and networking sessions to discover emerging talent.
2. Negotiation & Contracts
   • Negotiate licensing and acquisition deals, ensuring legal and financial agreements align with company goals.
   • Manage rights and permissions for digital distribution on Sterorra.
   • Liaise with legal teams to ensure content adheres to copyright laws and platform policies.
3. Content Evaluation
   • Assess submitted content based on quality, relevance, and audience potential.
   • Collaborate with internal teams to curate a diverse mix of films that represent various genres, voices, and cultures.
4. Strategy & Planning
   • Develop a robust content acquisition strategy to increase Sterorra\’s library and subscriber base.
   • Monitor industry trends and competitor platforms to identify gaps and opportunities for unique content.
   • Provide input on programming schedules, premieres, and featured content.
5. Collaboration
   • Work closely with the marketing and creative teams to promote newly acquired content.
   • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure seamless integration of content into the platform.
6. Reporting & Analysis
   • Track content performance and viewer engagement to inform acquisition decisions.
   • Prepare regular reports on acquisition targets, deals closed, and budget utilization.

Key Requirements

• Proven experience in content acquisition, film distribution, or media licensing (preferably in the OTT, film, or entertainment industry).
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Passion for independent and student films, with a keen eye for creative storytelling.
• Excellent understanding of digital rights management, licensing agreements, and copyright laws.
• Ability to analyze content performance metrics and adapt strategies accordingly.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in industry tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with media management software.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for festivals, screenings, and networking events.

Preferred Skills

• Existing relationships with independent filmmakers, film schools, or industry contacts.
• Knowledge of emerging trends in streaming platforms and viewer consumption habits.
• Familiarity with different licensing models (SVOD, TVOD, AVOD).
