Job Description

One of the most important objectives for us all at SES Water is the reduction of leaks and maintenance of our networks. We’re currently in a good position with a full reservoir and water stores, but we can’t afford to rely on continuous heavy rainfall for our supply. We need to ensure we don’t waste a drop.

All of us at SES Water, regardless of whether we are office or field based, share a service mindset. In practice, this means we provide our customers (who are very often our colleagues too) with great support and customer care.

As a part of this incredible support network, the Utilities Support Driver reports into the Section Manager of our Supply department and will work to ensure the teams responsible for repairing, maintaining and replacing the pipes have all the signing, lighting and guarding equipment and fittings they need. Sounds easy? It’s hard work. Our network infrastructure comes in all shapes and sizes and often needs attention outside of office hours in driving wind, pouring rain, sleet or snow.

Don’t worry, we provide protective (and warm) clothing and you’ll be well recompensed for standby and rota’d weekends (1 week in every 4).

As part of your role you’ll be:

  • Helping to maintain the highest standards of customer, health, safety, environmental and quality standards on site, and ensuring that road users and other parties are always given full consideration and respect.
  • Providing a proactive and responsive service to the R&M teams by delivering the necessary equipment and supporting in any other site-based needs
  • Assisting with pre-planning jobs, including preparing sites and delivering notices to affected customers
  • Ensuring sites are left cleared and safe at the end of a job
  • Maintaining the store of SLG equipment to ensure quality and stock levels
  • Assisting with daily checks and maintenance of the delivery vehicles

What We Offer:

We have a welcoming team and offer high quality training (including a Repair & Maintenance bootcamp) setting our colleagues up for success in developing a career path where you can learn new skills.

We offer a range of benefits for your personal and financial wellbeing.

For your financial wellbeing:

  • Salary of £29848 – £31500 per annum
  • Substantial overtime and standby pay
  • Employer contribution up to 10% on our Group Personal Pension Plan
  • Life assurance
  • Company bonus scheme
  • Salary Finance: Financial education, loans and savings
  • On site garage with service discount

For your personal wellbeing:

  • 25 days annual leave increasing to 27 days with length of service
