Key Responsibilities:
- Own the maintenance, diagnostics, and upgrade of SCADA, instrumentation, telemetry and control systems across multiple treatment centres.
- React fast to technical faults, reducing downtime and keeping water flowing.
- Work side-by-side with operators and engineers to implement plant control improvements.
- Support new ICA systems development and ensure tech is standardized across sites.
- Offer expert input on upgrades, replacements, and innovation opportunities.
- Lead by example: supervise contractors, mentor apprentices, and represent engineering excellence.
- Be part of a standby rota providing technical support for 24/7 operational resilience.
What We're Looking For:
Essential Requirements:
- ABTEC Diploma or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline or a time-served apprenticeship.
- 2+ years experience in SCADA/control systems within the water or similar process industry.
- Confident working with Windows OS and Microsoft Office tools.
- A self-starter who thrives on autonomy and problem-solving.
- A clean UK driving licence and readiness to work flexibly across sites.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with telemetry or industrial communications systems.
- Familiarity with water treatment, PLCs, or distributed control systems.
