We’re looking for a hands-on and motivated Field Operations Technician to join our team, supporting the maintenance of water storage assets and delivery of environmental and biodiversity initiatives. This is a varied, practical role where no two days are the same - you’ll be working across our operational sites ensuring high standards of maintenance, safety, and environmental stewardship.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Maintaining external and treated water storage assets
  • Carrying out grounds maintenance, including grass cutting at production sites
  • Operating large plant and equipment such as tractors and loaders
  • Performing routine equipment checks and reporting defects
  • Completing fencing repairs and installation
  • Cleaning tanks and reservoirs, including sterilisation activities
  • Setting up, operating, and dismantling temporary pumping equipment
  • Carrying out basic tree surgery (e.g. limb removal, clearing fallen trees)
  • Supporting deliveries with loading and unloading materials
  • Undertaking general labouring duties as required

This is a physically active role, predominantly based outdoors or within tanks and vessels, which involves working at height using ladders and stairs as well as in confined spaces. The position requires a good level of physical fitness due to occasional heavy lifting, and you will be required to use breathing apparatus at times. Owing to the nature of the work, successful candidates must also be able to pass a medical assessment.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Basic IT skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • At least 2 years' experience in a relevant field

Desirable:

  • Confined space awareness
  • Experience with breathing apparatus
  • Use of mechanical plant or agricultural equipment
  • Chainsaw operation
  • Forklift truck operation
  • Trailer towing
  • Handling or transporting hazardous substances
