Are you an experienced Construction and MEP Pre-Construction or Bid Manager who enjoys bringing people together to shape clear, compelling and work winning proposals? Do you thrive in environments where collaboration, curiosity and thoughtful challenge lead to better outcomes? If so, this could be a great next step.
SES Technology are looking for someone with solid experience in bid management within the construction and MEP sector. Do you have experience in bidding data centre projects—or perhaps you bring experience from similar complex high‑tech built‑environments and are ready to apply it in a new setting? The core question is: Do you know how to turn technical ideas into a story that resonates with clients to secure new growth?
In this role, you will lead all elements of the bid process (capture planning, solution, quality response, commercial/pricing, presentations) from early engagement through to final submission. Instead of simply coordinating documents, you’ll help shape the narrative: What matters most to this client? What’s the clearest way to explain our methodology? How do we ensure our commercial, operational and technical inputs all tell one joined‑up story? You’ll work closely with colleagues across the business to bring clarity, structure and direction to each bid, ensuring every aspect is thought through and aligned to a robust win strategy.
The role can be based from either our Doxford Park office in Sunderland or our main London office. As you will be leading bids across the UK, there will also be a requirement to regularly travel to or work from other offices.
We’re looking for someone who is organised, calm under pressure, and comfortable shaping ideas with a variety of stakeholders. If you enjoy asking thoughtful questions, creating clarity where there is complexity, and helping teams put their best foot forward, this could be the right fit.
What we will offer you:
- Competitive salary & profit share scheme
- Flexible working
- Car Allowance / Company Car (subject to role/grade)
- Travel covered to any of our sites (subject to HMRC advisory rates)
- Extensive corporate benefits including private medical, pension 6% employers’ contribution, health and wellness programme, 26 days holidays + bank holidays and much more
- Excellent range of learning and development activity to support your career progression.
- Industry‑leading family leave benefits including 26 weeks fully paid maternity and 12 weeks fully paid paternity.
If this sounds like a role where you could make a difference, we would love to hear from you.
SES are committed to the fair treatment of people with criminal records, including employees and potential employees. We ensure that our recruitment, promotion, and retention activity does not treat people less favourably because of an offending background.
Basic Check: Given the nature of this position, you will need to undergo a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) at offer stage. Applicants with criminal convictions will be assessed individually, and we assure you that we do not discriminate based on an applicant’s criminal record or the details of any disclosed offences. Additionally, certain roles may be subject to additional pre‑employment checks. National Security Vetting applies.
