SES are currently looking for a Regional Technical Director to lead the technical and design aspects of our MEP data centre projects within the SES Technology Division.
About The Role
We are seeking a Regional Technical Director to lead the technical and design delivery of our data centre & advanced manufacturing projects within the SES Technology division. This is a pivotal SLT level leadership role, responsible for driving technical excellence, compliance, best value design and innovation across a portfolio of high-value, complex MEP projects in the data centre sector.
You will lead the technical team, collaborating with regional and national technical leaders to ensure best-in-class delivery. This role is instrumental in shaping the technical strategy for SES Technology and ensuring our projects meet the highest standards of performance, compliance, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic technical leadership across SES Technology’s data centre & advanced manufacturing projects, ensuring consistency and quality in design and delivery.
- Lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary technical team from preconstruction through to project completion.
- Collaborate with other Regional Technical Directors and the Managing Director to align technical delivery with business objectives.
- Champion innovation, digital engineering, and design excellence, ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act and CDM regulations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement and proactive governance across all technical functions.
- Support resource planning, lead on MEP consultant selection, and performance management across the design lifecycle.
- Ensure all design outputs align with SES Technology’s offsite manufacturing (OSM) strategy and digital engineering standards.
- Proven experience in leading technical delivery on complex MEP projects, ideally within the data centre, mission-critical environments and/or advanced manufacturing sectors.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Deep understanding of the RIBA Plan of Work, BSRIA BG6, and digital engineering principles.
- Demonstrated ability to drive consistency, innovation, and quality across multiple projects and regions.
- A passion for design & technical excellence and a commitment to delivering value for clients and the business
