About the OpportunityLead V&V activities for complex engineering projects, ensuring full requirements coverage. Define V&V strategies, test plans, and protocols aligned with Servomex product, safety, compliance, and quality standards. Mentor junior engineers and promote rigorous, disciplined engineering practices. Engage early in system architecture discussions to ensure testability, traceability, and robust requirements flow. Perform hands‑on testing of optical, electronic, software, and system‑level functions, applying physics‑based measurement principles (e.g., spectroscopy, gas analytics). Analyse data, investigate anomalies, and support root cause analysis and corrective actions. Apply sound statistical methods, measurement uncertainty, and variation analysis. Champion best practices aligned with ISO 9001, IEC standards, and internal quality frameworks. Maintain accurate, audit‑ready documentation. Collaborate with R&D, Product Development, Electronics, Software, Production, and Quality teams for integrated V&V activities. Represent V&V in design reviews, risk assessments, and assurance activities (e.g., FMEA).
About Your Essential Skills & ExperienceProven experience delivering robust validation protocols and traceability matrices. Strong V&V/test engineering background in regulated or safety‑critical environments. Ability to take ownership of programs and overcome technical challenges. Effective verbal and written communication across technical and non‑technical audiences. Experience mentoring or leading small technical teams. Strong understanding of V&V methods, test design, coverage, and documentation. Solid grounding in measurement science, physics, and data analysis. Awareness of compliance standards and risk management. Experience with statistical tools, root cause analysis, and structured problem‑solving. Ability to collaborate effectively across cross‑functional engineering teams.

- Familiarity with gas analyser standards (e.g., BS EN 61207).
- Knowledge of ISO9001, IEC61010, IEC61326.

- Knowledge of CE/UKCA/EMC and product compliance frameworks.
- Experience with automation tools (Python, LabVIEW, Squish).
- Exposure to environmental testing or hazardous‑area products.
Essential: Degree or higher, in Physics, Applied Physics, Engineering Physics, or related scientific discipline. Desirable: ISTQB certification; Six Sigma Green Belt.

Location: Crowborough, East Sussex, UKHybrid Working: During the initial six months, the successful candidate will be onsite five days per week. After this period, a hybrid working pattern can be adopted, with a minimum of three days per week onsite.
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent, 38 hours per week.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday (flexible start and finish times)
Salary: circa ÂŁ55,000
