We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our site facilities and production equipment. This is a practical, site-based role suited to engineers who enjoy working across multiple disciplines and taking pride in keeping systems running at their best.
Salary: £37,000 – £42,000 per annum + excellent benefits. This role is a full time, permanent opportunity with a Monday to Friday working pattern based onsite at our facility in Crowborough, East Sussex.
About the Opportunity
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering planned and reactive maintenance, supporting site services, and contributing to continuous improvement activities. You will work closely with colleagues across engineering, operations, and Health & Safety to ensure the site operates safely and effectively.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering planned and reactive maintenance in line with the site maintenance and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) programme.
- Carrying out TPM activities on production and operational equipment.
- Providing practical engineering support to site services and improvement projects.
- Participating in the Out-of-Hours (OOH) Support Team, including site security duties when required.
- Supporting external contractors on site and ensuring work is completed safely and effectively.
- Assisting with site support tasks, including safe manual handling and equipment movement (forklift use where applicable).
- Supporting Health & Safety initiatives, including contributing to risk assessments.
- Providing operational support and cover for the Site Services Manager when required.

- Practical engineering experience across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems in automatic or semi-automatic environments.
- Confident and safe user of standard engineering tools and equipment.
- Experience working in a preventative maintenance or TPM-focused setting.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
- Willing to undertake a physically active, hands-on engineering role.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Background in manufacturing or clean-room environments.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Exposure to gas analysis or analytical instrumentation technologies.
- Experience working within a Lean, Continuous Improvement, or CI-focused organisation.
- Strong fault-finding and structured problem-solving skills.
- A methodical approach with a high level of attention to detail.
Education / Qualifications
HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering or manufacturing discipline, or equivalent practical experience in a maintenance engineering role.
