At ServiceTrade, you’ll build technology that matters — for your career, your team, and the thousands of commercial contractors who rely on our platform every day. We’re on a mission to partner with commercial trades to deliver technology that enhances technician productivity, improves customer experiences, and drives scalable growth. We’re looking for a Finance Automation Manager who’s excited to make an impact. In this role, you will be responsible for recurring planning and reporting cycles and building the AI-powered tooling that multiplies what a high-leverage finance team can deliver — more insight, more speed, same footprint.

Why ServiceTrade: You’ll belong here from the start. We bring together kind, curious people with diverse perspectives and trust them with meaningful work. You’ll have ownership, clarity, and support to solve real problems, make a visible impact for our customers, and continue growing as your role evolves. On the Finance team, you’ll have the opportunity to work at the forefront of evolving finance operations — building the systems and automation that make recurring analysis run itself, so your time stays focused on the questions that actually move the business.

About You: You're energized by what the modern finance toolkit — Claude, Gemini, Notion, BigQuery, Excel, and Sheets — makes possible, and you build better processes rather than wait for them. You lead through the systems you create and the trust you earn, not through direct reports. And you're comfortable growing into the role — the bar here is trajectory, not day-one mastery. You think in numbers naturally — translating mathematical concepts for partners who don't share the same fluency, and tracing logic through formulas, SQL, and data outputs without missing a beat. You also understand that FP&A means handling information no one else in the company sees. Discretion isn't a nice-to-have here — it's a prerequisite, and you'll come ready to speak to it directly.

Key Responsibilities and Activities:

  • The recurring FP&A cycles. Long-range planning, the annual budget, monthly financial reporting, re-forecasts, and executive performance reviews — you own the process, the deliverables, and the commentary with support from the Director of FP&A and CFO.
  • Executive partnership. You are a trusted voice in the FP&A team's relationships with the executive leadership team and many of their direct reports. The Director of FP&A is the primary point of contact; you carry your own working relationships and deliver ad hoc strategic analyses when leadership needs a partner.
  • Automation and tool-building. You proactively ship automations, prompts, plugins, and lightweight agents — primarily inside Claude (Cowork, Code, and the Excel add-in), Gemini, and Notion — to compress recurring work and surface insights earlier. Early targets: accelerating the financial close and streamlining variance analysis.
  • Cost planning infrastructure. You design and ship a unified Excel-native experience that lets executives build budgets, see budget vs. actual, and re-forecast in one coherent product — replacing yesterday's templates.
  • Data partnership. You work alongside our sales reporting analyst on BigQuery data shared by Finance and GTMOps, and coordinate with the AI transformation team on Finance's automation workflows.
  • Commissions oversight. You own commission and bonus administration end-to-end. As we bring on dedicated administrative support, the operational load will lighten — but ongoing oversight, plan design input, and quality control of that work remain part of this role. Expect roughly 30% of your time at the outset, declining as that support ramps.

Knowledge and Skills:

Required:

  • Roughly 5–7 years in FP&A, strategic finance, or a comparable analytical seat producing leadership- or board-grade work.
  • SQL literacy. You read, interpret, validate, and debug SQL fluently — including SQL produced by AI tools. You investigate query outputs skeptically, recognize when results don't pass the smell test, and correct course.
  • A demonstrated builder instinct in the AI era. You have actually shipped Claude or comparable LLM-based tooling — prompts, plugins, agents, automations — that did real work for real people. We will ask for examples.
  • Google Sheets fluency, including QUERY, IMPORTRANGE, and connected sheets / BigQuery patterns. Excel proficiency required; Excel-only is not the right fit for our workflow.
  • SaaS numeracy: CARR, churn, NDR, LTV, CAC, payback, plus forecasting and scenario modeling fundamentals.
  • Cultural alignment with CREW.

Strong Preference:

  • Prior exposure to NetSuite, Maxio, Salesforce, or a comparable ERP / revenue subledger / CRM stack.
  • Experience owning an FP&A cycle end-to-end, not just contributing pieces.

Nice to Have:

  • Python, dbt or comparable data modeling, hands-on BigQuery, LightDash or another modern BI tool.
  • CaptivateIQ or other ICM tool exposure.
  • Prior commercial-services, vertical SaaS, or scale-up finance experience.
