We are currently looking for a Project Engineer to join our existing team working at London Heathrow.

In this role you will be providing 1st and 2nd level support, work on Installation Projects and other related Project work at LHR and other sites, provide support & guidance to other engineers and provide cover for the System Administration team.

Key activities include

  • Providing 1st level support to Engineers & customers.
  • Providing 2nd level support for requests & incidents escalated from 1st level engineers, customers & 3rd
  • Escalate 3rd level incidents to the customer and 3rd parties for resolution.
  • Preventative maintenance on workstations and peripherals.
  • Managing assigned service asset management tasks.
  • Creating & contributing to the creation and implementation of Knowledgebase articles.
  • Airline system integration testing.
  • Manage or conduct software/hardware installations as assigned.
  • Working at various locations and with different teams.
  • Specifying the scope of works necessary for planned projects.
  • Assisting and providing support to other teams.
  • Carrying out project work in line with best practices.

Job requirements

  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently as a member of the team.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to ensure customer service targets and performance objectives are met and have good customer management skills in order to maximise customer satisfaction.
  • Full UK manual driving licence.
  • Proven experience of Airport IT Support Operations.
  • Familiar with network, core systems and configuration.
  • Familiar with the basic principles of ITIL v3 Best Practice at Foundation level.
  • Ability to take part in an on call rota 24x7 (if required).
  • Ability to work shifts on a rota, weekends, bank holidays, early and late shifts and some nights (if required for Projects).
  • Prepared to travel to and work at other locations within the UK (if required, costs will be covered).
  • Prepared to travel to and work outside the UK (if required, costs will be covered) from time to time.

Job requirements

  • Understanding of Windows 11 Support (preferred).
  • ITIL v3 Foundation (preferred).
  • Understanding of IP Data Networking.
  • Experienced in Computer installation work.
