We are currently looking for a Project Engineer to join our existing team working at London Heathrow.
In this role you will be providing 1st and 2nd level support, working on installation projects and other related project work at LHR and other sites, providing support and guidance to other engineers, and covering for the System Administration team.
Key Activities
- Providing 1st level support to engineers and customers.
- Providing 2nd level support for requests and incidents escalated from 1st level engineers, customers and 3rd parties.
- Escalating 3rd level incidents to the customer and 3rd parties for resolution.
- Performing preventative maintenance on workstations and peripherals.
- Managing assigned service asset management tasks.
- Creating and contributing to Knowledgebase articles.
- Conducting airline system integration testing.
- Managing or conducting software/hardware installations as assigned.
- Working at various locations with different teams.
- Specifying the scope of works required for planned projects.
- Assisting and providing support to other teams.
- Carrying out project work in line with best practices.
Job Requirements
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently as a member of a team.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to ensure customer service targets and performance objectives are met; strong customer management skills to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Full UK manual driving licence.
- Proven experience of Airport IT Support Operations.
- Familiarity with network, core systems and configuration.
- Basic understanding of ITIL v3 Best Practice at Foundation level.
- Availability to take part in an on‑call rota 24x7 if required.
- Ability to work shifts on a rota, including weekends, bank holidays, early and late shifts and some nights if required for projects.
- Prepared to travel within the UK, with costs covered.
- Prepared to travel outside the UK from time to time, with costs covered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of Windows 11 support (preferred).
- ITIL v3 Foundation certification (preferred).
- Understanding of IP data networking.
- Experience in computer installation work.
