Responsibilities
- Personal care – assisting with bathing, dressing, and emotional support.
- Housekeeping – making and changing beds, cleaning rooms, dusting, laundry, and ironing.
- Hobbies and social activities – supporting continued participation in preferred activities.
- Medical needs – accompanying to appointments, assisting with medication.
- Other small jobs – sorting papers and letters, computer support, general admin, occasional pet care including dog walking.
Qualifications
- Car driver/owner with a clean driving licence.
- Physically fit to handle manual duties.
- Basic cookery skills.
- Willingness to attend training (first aid, manual handling, etc.).
- Strong work ethic, patient, calm, and good communication skills.
- Confidentiality, humour, and respect for independence.
- Teamwork and independent initiative with flexibility for holiday or sickness cover.
Additional Information
Direct payments are available from Local Authorities for a care and support plan following a social care assessment. Salary includes unsociable hours and weekend work; hours are minimally contracted with possibility for additional flexible support.
