We’re looking for a GEO Content Strategist to help shape how brands create and structure content for the era of AI-driven search. Search is changing. It’s no longer just about ranking on Google — it’s about how content is understood, surfaced, and used by AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini. This role sits at the intersection of content strategy, SEO, and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). You’ll help clients improve how their content is structured and positioned so it performs better in both traditional search and AI-generated answers. You’ll work closely with strategists, technical SEO specialists, and the delivery team to turn insight into action.
What you’ll be doing:
- Support the development of content strategies for AI and search visibility
- Help build topic frameworks, content structures, and SEO-aligned content plans
- Translate SEO and content audits into clear, actionable recommendations
- Identify opportunities to improve how content is surfaced in AI search tools
- Conduct GEO content audits to identify opportunities for improved AI search visibility and citation potential
- Develop AI search content strategies based on prompt intent analysis, audience research, and competitive visibility gaps
- Create content recommendations aligned to emerging zero-click search behaviours and AI-driven discovery journeys
- Help clients prioritise content formats that perform effectively in AI-generated answers, including expert-led, proprietary, transactional, and trust-building content
- Support and occasionally lead parts of client workshops and strategy sessions
- Help present findings and recommendations alongside senior team members
- Contribute to shaping clear, structured content roadmaps for clients
AI Search & Content Evolution:
- Learn and apply how AI search changes content discovery
- Support optimisation of content for AI-generated answers
- Develop and optimise AI prompts to enhance GEO performance and AI search visibility
- Help identify content gaps and improvement opportunities across client sites
- Research and map AI search prompting behaviours using GPT platforms, AI search tools, search data, and audience research methodologies
- Build prompt libraries, intent clusters, and AI search taxonomies to inform GEO strategy and measurement
- Analyse how brands, competitors, and publishers are referenced and cited across AI search platforms
- Support the development of GEO testing frameworks and experimentation programmes
Measurement & Insights:
- Support the development of GEO measurement frameworks and reporting methodologies
- Help define and track key GEO performance indicators including citations, brand mentions, answer visibility, prompt coverage, and business outcomes
- Work alongside analysts and technical specialists to build dashboards that demonstrate GEO performance and impact
- Translate GEO performance data into actionable recommendations for clients
Internal & Commercial Support:
- Contribute to new business proposals and strategy decks
- Work with senior team members to shape GEO content approaches
- Support the evolution of GEO content strategy frameworks
What we’re looking for:
Must Have:
- Background in content strategy, SEO content, editorial, or digital marketing
- Experience in agency, in-house, or consulting environments
- Understanding of SEO content fundamentals: topic clusters, keyword research, content planning
- Strong writing and structured thinking skills
- Comfortable working with data, insights, and content performance
- Ability to interpret search, audience, and AI visibility data to inform content strategy
- Experience using content research, SEO, or AI tools to identify audience needs and content opportunities
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to AI tools (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, etc.)
- Interest in how AI is changing search and content discovery
- Basic understanding of technical SEO
- Understanding of technical GEO concepts including AI crawlability, structured data, content accessibility, and citation optimisation
- Familiarity with e-commerce content strategy and emerging standards such as Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP)
- Experience working with dashboards, reporting platforms, or data visualisation tools
- Experience working with content designers, SEO teams, or analysts
What success looks like (First 3-6 Months):
- Independently supports GEO content strategy workstreams
- Produces clear, structured content recommendations for clients
- Leads workshops and client meetings
- Understanding of AI search and GEO principles
- Becomes a key part of the team
Who this role is not for:
- Pure content production or copywriting-only roles
- Senior strategists expecting full ownership of accounts
- Highly technical SEO specialists without content focus
