Our intelligent cloud-based platform seamlessly connects people, systems, and processes to empower organizations to find smarter, faster, and better ways to work. But this is just the beginning of our journey. Join us as we pursue our purpose to make the world work better for everyone.
The Solution Architecture team is part of our pre-sales organisation and serves as the senior technical advisory function for our largest and most strategic customers. We are actively looking for a Senior Advisory Pre-Sales Enterprise Architect to join the team. Focused on National Security and Public Safety (NS&PS) you will work at the intersection of mission outcomes, secure architecture, and long term transformation. Our Solution Architects combine deep technical expertise with mission awareness, executive engagement skills and an inspirational mindset. We help customers across Defence, national security and public safety understand how the Now Platform can enhance operational resilience, unlock new capabilities, and support their evolving mission needs. We act as technical leaders for their most complex challenges, ensuring that our customers can realize the value they expect while designing solutions based on best practice, secure architecture patterns and industry standards.
Working closely with customers, partners, integrators and the wider ServiceNow organisation you will create and communicate senior level architectures, strategies and mission aligned solutions in written and verbal formats up to and including CIO, CTO, CISO and Chief Architect audiences.
What you get to do in this role:
- Engage directly with senior Defence and National Security executives to understand mission priorities, operational challenges and transformation opportunities, translating them into clear architectural approaches using the Now Platform.
- Shape and articulate senior level strategies that show how ServiceNow supports secure mission workflows, resilience, integration, and multi domain operations.
- Lead architecture engagements for major Defence and wider NS&PS customers including mission transformation, secure enterprise services, digital operations, cyber resilience, Platform as a Service and future mission capabilities.
- Partner with the Defence Strategy and Growth Director as the senior technical counterpart, aligning mission themes and three horizon strategy to technical direction and solution patterns.
- Define and communicate secure architecture patterns and Defence specific use cases that demonstrate how ServiceNow aligns to MOD structures, command priorities, major programmes and evolving capability needs.
- Engage deeply with the Defence ecosystem including primes, integrators and niche SMEs to shape joint architectures and mission aligned offerings.
- Understand customer technology strategies across data, applications, integration, AI, security and resilience and show how the Now Platform fits into their current and future landscape.
- Operate confidently in secure and sensitive environments designing solutions that respect classification requirements, governance and security principles.
- Deliver mission architecture workshops, innovation sessions, technical briefings and horizon reviews with customers and partners.
- Provide senior technical guidance across the National Security and Public Safety portfolio supporting Defence while contributing across policing, Home Office, intelligence community and emergency services.
- Maintain strong relationships at all levels within customer organisations including Enterprise Architects, Domain Architects, Chief Architects, Directors, VPs and CXOs throughout their journey.
- Act as a thought leader producing mission aligned white papers, architecture guidance and best practice content while contributing to ServiceNow positioning across the Defence and NSPS communities.
- Collaborate with internal ServiceNow teams including Solution Consulting, Inspire Value, Product and Public Affairs to ensure architectural coherence and mission alignment.
- Contribute to the creation and evolution of best practices technical assets and reusable architecture frameworks.
To be successful in this role you have:
- Exceptional Solution / Enterprise Architecture skills with the ability to simplify complexity, shape strategy and articulate secure mission architectures with clarity and confidence.
- 10+ years of success influencing senior technology leaders in pre‑sales advisory consulting or delivery.
- A collaborative advisory style focused on co‑creation rather than challenge led engagement respecting the culture and sensitivities of Defence and NSPS customers.
- A natural ability to build trust with senior technical and mission leaders and to influence outcomes through credibility, understanding and partnership.
- Experience operating in Defence or National Security environments or deep appreciation of mission context with an ability to grow into Defence specific architecture patterns and needs.
- UK security clearance (SC) preferred.
