We are looking for an experienced Restoration Technician to join our team! You will be making an impact each day by responding to customer needs for Water and Fire Restoration jobs. This includes the completion of drying, demolition, and other restoration activities. You hold yourself to a high standard and care deeply about the quality of your work and its impact on customers and your team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform production/restoration process per work order and crew chief instructions
- Inventory and load the work vehicle with equipment, products, and supplies needed for each project
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle along with clean equipment
- Leave job site with a clean and orderly appearance
- Communicate openly with crew chief and other technicians
- Respond promptly to emergency water damage calls and assist in mitigating damage to residential and commercial properties
- Willingness to work occasional on-call shifts, including holidays, weekends, and evenings
- Perform water extraction, drying, and dehumidification using industry-standard equipment
- Mold remediation, including containment, removal, and cleaning
- Conduct thorough inspections to assess the extent of water damage and develop appropriate restoration plans
- Remove damaged materials, including flooring, drywall, and insulation, as necessary
- Clean and sanitize affected areas to prevent mold growth and ensure a safe environment for occupants
- Document all work performed, including photos and detailed notes, for insurance purposes
- Communicate effectively with clients and other team members throughout the restoration process
- Work in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in sanitary & non-sanitary environments
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic math, computer, and tablet skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record with ability to drive larger vehicles
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills
- Coachable
- Ability to work in fast-paced and sometimes challenging environments
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Basic understanding of construction and building materials is a plus
- IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification is a plus, but not required
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly
- Work at ceiling heights, in tight spaces and climb ladders
- Ability to travel locally and out of state
- Ability to complete background check subject to applicable laws and regulations
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics)
- Ability to sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to repetitively push/pull/lift/carry objects
- Ability to work with/around cleaning products/chemicals
- Ability to travel locally and out of state when necessary
Career Growth:
This job has a track to grow into a crew lead/project manager position once IICRC certifications are obtained after 6 months of proven work. IICRC certifications will be paid for by Restoration 1 of Greater Cincinnati.
