The Team Located on the stunning East Coast of Tasmania, St. Helens District Hospital has Tasmania’s busiest rural emergency department, with an increase in emergency presentations during peak tourist season from December until April. The hospital provides a fast‑paced environment that delivers high quality patient‑centred care. The Role Responsible for co‑ordinating the delivery of hotel services for St Helens Hospital and Community Health Services including:
- Preparing and producing all food and nutritional requirements for patients and staff at the St. Helens Hospital and delivered meal recipients.
- Providing supervision and direction to a small team of catering, cleaning and home help support staff.
- Design, implement and oversee systems for catering, cleaning and home help services.

Details of appointment Permanent part time, day worker position, working 64 hours per fortnight, commencing 1st of February 2026. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary US$73,811 to US$79,779 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
Salary Packaging You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to US$9,010 + US$2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Allowances Employees employed at the following Remote site will be paid a Remote and Rural allowance of 4% of base Salary. Beaconsfield, Bicheno, Bridport, Bruny Island, Campbell Town, Deloraine, George Town, Nubeena, Oatlands, Ouse, Scamander, Scottsdale, Smithton, Swansea, St Helens or Triabunna.
