The Role: Broad operational direction and support will be provided by the Area Manager ADS North and clinical Governance will be provided by the Clinical Director. The Specialist Medical Practitioner - ADS will:

  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and with key stakeholders to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of the public and private sector Pharmacotherapy Program.
  • Be expected to exercise a significant level of independent clinical judgement in completing the primary tasks.
  • Be expected to act with integrity and in an ethically honourable manner.

Details of appointment: Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time and casual vacancies.

Salary: Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $216,300 - $310,389 per annum, pro rata + 11.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging. Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $300,216 - $310,389 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award. Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022.

In addition, the following allowances and benefits may be available:

  • Salary packaging options include a range of benefits like living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meals and entertainment every year.
  • Provision of a fully maintained private plated motor vehicle or motor vehicle allowance of $28,389 per annum.
  • Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $480 per annum.
  • Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.
  • A range of leave entitlements, including study leave and Professional Development Support.
  • Fitness Passport – You, and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.

Eligibility: Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria as Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty. Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change.
