Provide strong leadership, a proactive communication style to effectively co‑ordinate the Nursing and Support team of Ward 6D, which includes our Acute Stroke Unit.
The Role: The NUM works autonomously at ward level under the general direction of the Nursing Director to provide nursing leadership and is responsible and accountable for:
- Ensuring the standards of patient/client care within the practice area are in accordance with relevant legislation, clinical standards and evidence‑based practice.
- Ensuring the provision of nursing care that meets the care requirements of each patient/client in the practice area.
- Managing physical, financial and human resources effectively, ensuring the practice area objectives are met.
- Working collaboratively to support a learning organisation encouraging and supporting staff to develop further knowledge and skills to enhance the individual and the practice area.
- Providing clear direction to staff, so they understand their responsibilities and duties.
- Ensuring that quality improvement processes are in place and acted upon, resulting in constant evaluation and improvement in the standard of care to patients/clients.
- Acting as a role model for staff by actively coaching/mentoring/developing staff.
Details of appointment: Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as you can join our team. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $134,109 to $140,384 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type.
Salary Packaging: You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
