The Team:

The Family Violence Counselling and Support Service (FVCSS) offers a specialised counselling and support to assist adults, children and youngpeople, children who have experienced family violence. This service is part of the Safe at Home service system, with astrong focus on the safety and well-being of victim survivors of family violence.

The Role:

  • Assist adults to recover from their experience of family violence through the provision of information, assessment, counselling, referrals, group work, and other appropriate forms of therapeutic intervention.
  • Contribute to and participate in the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of programs and group sessions.
  • Provide information and support, referral and advice to clients and other service providers.
  • Assess and monitor the ongoing risk and safety needs of the adults affected by family violence who access the service

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of family violence and its impact on adults.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with adults with complex needs and apply appropriate models of intervention.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgement and initiative, work with general supervision and seek guidance as appropriate.
  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to prioritise and monitor a busy workload while providing a high standard of client care.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in written form, and liaise effectively with clients, carers and other staff and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and be adaptable and flexible in a complex environment

Details of appointment:

Fixed-term, part time day worker, working 60.8 hours per fortnight,commencing as soon as possible until 6 February 2026.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary:

$73,834 to $111,364 per annum (pro rata)+ our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance withAllied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022

Allowances:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or in the case of self-regulated allied health professions with either full membership or eligible for membership with the relevant professional association
  • Current Working with Children Registration

It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
