The Department of Health is seeking suitably qualified applicants for a Clinical Nurse Consultant - Clinical Lead vacancy. This is a dual classified position which is also being advertised as a Clinical Lead. Only one position will be filled on merit.
The Team: Join the Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMHS), a dynamic, community-based team located in beautiful Launceston, Tasmania. Our multidisciplinary team delivers compassionate, person-centred mental health care through both in-community and outreach services. We work closely with individuals, their families, and both formal and informal support networks to help older people live their best lives. The Role: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Clinical Nurse Consultant - Clinical Lead to join our multidisciplinary Older Persons Mental Health Team. In this pivotal role, you will provide high-level clinical leadership and strategic support to ensure the delivery of exceptional mental health services in line with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, National Mental Health Standards, and relevant legislation. Responsibilities include:
- Leading and guiding the strategic development and management of a community mental health team.
- Driving change management initiatives to implement models of care and service improvements.
- Overseeing human and physical resources to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Championing best-practice clinical processes for improved client outcomes and enhancing consumer and carer engagement.

You will need: Leadership or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital-based program that led to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom.
Desirable criteria include a minimum of 3 years postgraduate clinical experience in the context of a community mental health team.
