Overview: This position is eligible for a Multi-Disciplinary Allowance.

The team: CYMHS Medicare Mental Health Kids hub is an integrated secondary level mental health service for emerging complexity for the 0-12 year age group. This early intervention service enables families to access a range of evidence-based individual and group interventions and supports for mild to moderate emotional, behavioural, social, relational, and developmental challenges. The service works with families and various service providers to provide integrated and holistic care.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the establishment of the CYMHS North MMH Kids hub Tasmania service.
  • Undertake assessments, care planning, and delivery of individual and group secondary level mental health interventions to children and families, including culturally appropriate services.
  • Develop and support collaborative care partnerships with service providers across various sectors.
  • Collect and review client and service outcome data and participate in activities to improve client outcomes.
  • Contribute to continuing quality and safety, service development and improvement, and professional development processes and standards.

Duties:

  • Deliver specialist services to clients of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multi-disciplinary framework.
  • Promote community awareness in relation to mental health.
  • Provide clinical leadership and expert knowledge in all aspects of primary health care.
  • Administer an advanced clinical practice framework for the management of clients with complex needs.
  • Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate programs and activities to improve client outcomes.

Details of appointment: Fixed term full-time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2026. Applicants should note that this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar vacancies.

Salary: Registered Nurse, Grade 5 $109,767 - $115,813 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Eligibility: Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria, including being registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and holding current Working with Children Registration.

Desirable criteria include:

  • Minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience in an area relevant to the role.
  • Postgraduate qualification or working towards a postgraduate qualification relevant to the role.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
